ORLANDO, Fla. — A woman is facing charges after troopers say she caused a crash that sent a tow truck through a local restaurant and hospitalized three of the people people working there.

The owners of Chilaca’s Mexican Grill on South Orange Avenue say they were preparing to open for the day just before 10 a.m. when the crash happened.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman, 51, driving a Hyundai ran a red light near the intersection and was hit by a tow truck.
Troopers say the collision forced the truck off the road and into the restaurant.
The driver of the Hyundai and three people inside the restaurant were taken to the hospital. They’re all expected to survive their injuries.

The owners of the building say their restaurant had only been open for two weeks.
“We put everything we have here, and that’s it...it was taken,” Chilaca’s owner Marshall Rodriquez said.
Rodriguez estimates the damage is well over $150,000.

FHP is in the process of filing charges against the woman who ran the red light, causing the crash.
