ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Three students have been arrested after a fight at University High School, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

A student said there was no movement for about 30 minutes, then the day continued.

WFTV reached out to Orange County Public Schools for more information but has not heard back.

“I drop my daughter off here and I think that she's safe at school, and to get a call from her saying that she's in fear of her life, they're fighting,” said parent Tolisha Martin.

Deputies said during the fight, an on-duty school resource officer called for backup.

WFTV’s Skywitness 9 helicopter flew over the school and observed extra deputies and units with Orange County Fire and Rescue.

A student was also seen inside a deputy's car, but it’s unknown if this was related to the fight.

“What is the school doing about this?” Martin said. “This isn't the first fight. It’s like fights after fights. It’s like every week, there's a big fight, and it needs to stop.”

A spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's Office said there were no significant injuries and no one had to be transported to a hospital.

“[My daughter] doesn't want to come back to school tomorrow because she's so afraid of whatever she saw today,” Martin said.

WFTV reporter Karen Parks spoke with several parents who said there have been several fights at the high school this school year.

Deputies said they've been called to the school 25 times since classes started in August.
