BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating after a violent boat crash over the weekend.

The crash happened Saturday night during the Merritt Island Christmas Boat Parade.
A video shared with Channel 9 shows a boat decked out with Christmas lights speeding off after being launched into the water and soon crashing into another vessel.

FWC said three people were hurt and taken to a hospital for treatment.
The event organizers released a statement that said in part, “We do not condone this type of reckless activity and will work with local law enforcement to make sure this type of activity is immediately rectified in the future.”

An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
