DELTONA, Fla. — A discussion between mother and daughter over how to evict the mother’s long-term boyfriend from their Deltona home turned deadly Tuesday night when deputies say the boyfriend shot and killed both women before turning the gun on himself.
The boyfriend, identified as Richard Murray, 58, left a note in the home on Nardello Drive apologizing to his adult sons for what he’d done, Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a press conference Wednesday morning.
Chitwood identified the murder-suicide victims as Nancy Eads, 56, and Lisa Ferraro, 32.

Chitwood said Ferraro’s husband called law enforcement to request a wellness check at the home after he hadn’t heard from his wife in several hours.
When deputies arrived around 9:30 p.m., they said they found all three dead with gunshot wounds.
Chitwood said Eads and Murray had lived together at the Deltona home for 12 years.
He described the incident as “senseless violence that makes no rhyme or reason.”
Family friend Brandi Syndor said Eads and Ferraro were great, caring people.
"They don't deserve this. They were great loving people," Syndor said.
Syndor said Eads was like another mother to her.
"We did everything together," she said.
Chitwood said Murray has a minimal criminal history out of state, and that deputies had never been called to the home for any domestic incidents in the past.
