SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County leaders said there are still high concentrations of COVID-19 in Altamonte Springs’ and Casselberry’s wastewater.

The latest sample showed no detectable levels of the delta variant for the first time since July.
In Altamonte Springs wastewater, the amount of COVID-19 found Thursday was more than 5,600% since Thanksgiving.

The city manager of Altamonte Springs said the city is looking for a consistent trend to see if it is on the downward side of the latest surge.
Florida is now the third state to top 5 million COVID-19 cases.

The U.S. surgeon general believes the state is nearing its peak in cases.
