FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — JetBlue officials are investigating after two people were found dead after a flight landed in Florida.

The airline said the people were found dead inside a landing gear compartment of one of its aircraft Monday night.
The flight landed at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the discovery was made during a routine post-flight maintenance inspection.

“At this time, the identities of the individuals and the circumstances surrounding how they accessed the aircraft remain under investigation,” a JetBlue spokesperson said. “This is a heartbreaking situation, and we are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this occurred.”
JetBlue said the flight had departed from New York’s JFK Airport before landing in Florida.
