14-year-old driver involved in fatal Flagler County crash

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in Flagler County that took one person’s life Thursday afternoon.

Troopers were called to Clove Ave. and Rosewood St. intersection in Bunnell just before 4:30 p.m.

According to FHP, the 51-year-old male passenger was hanging out of the door and standing on the running boards when the 14-year-old driver lost control of the pickup truck.

The 51-year-old passenger died when the pickup ran off the road and into a ditch. Troopers say it does not appear he was wearing his seatbelt.

The driver was transported to the hospital, no updates on his injuries.

Troopers are still investigating and have not said if the 14-year-old will face any charges.
