DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — About 120 people were evacuated late Thursday from an apartment complex on the Halifax River after the roof of one of its buildings collapsed, the Daytona Beach Police Department said.
The collapse happened at about 11:30 p.m. at The Overlook at Daytona apartments at Seabreeze Boulevard and North Halifax Avenue, Daytona Beach fire spokeswoman Sasha Staton said.

The collapse was blamed on Thursday's heavy rain, Staton said.
Residents reported flooding on each of the building's six floors, she said.
"I'm really upset. I'm really upset. We pay a lot of money to live here," resident Matthew Gaal told Channel 9's Mike Manzoni.

Firefighters said the American Red Cross was called to the scene to help residents find temporary housing until it's safe for them to return to their homes.
No one was injured.
