109-year-old woman becomes honorary Seminole County deputy

Dorothea Nelson celebrated her 109 birthday by becoming an honorary deputy with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A 109-year-old woman from Seminole County got quite the birthday present Tuesday.

Dorothea Nelson celebrated her special day by being designated as honorary deputy by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies also threw her a birthday party, complete with cake and a chance to sit in the back of a squad car.

Nelson told Channel 9's Jeff Levkulich that she does Pilates, eats chocolate and drinks a glass of milk every day for lunch.

Nelson lives with her daughter in Lake Mary and said she enjoys watching her granddaughter’s softball games.
