MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Firefighters fought a raging house fire in Mount Dora Sunday afternoon, after a house was struck by lightning.
Mount Dora fire and police were called to the 8000 block of Bridgeport Bay Circle around 11:48 a.m., responding to a lightning strike at the house.
When fire crews arrived, they found the house fully engulfed in flames.
According to fire officials, the homeowner was able to escape the house unharmed. The neighbors next door to the house were evacuated as a precaution.

Eustis Fire and Lake County Fire Rescue were on hand and assisted with getting the fire extinguished.

Fire crews remained on scene mopping up and watching for hot spots.
