Jailed Misty Says She Complained To Governor

ST. JOHN'S COUNTY, Fla. — Misty Croslin-Cummings doesn't like how she's being treated in jail and wants Governor Charlie Crist to do something about it.

"We wrote to the governor, we wrote to sheriff, we wrote to everybody, that's bull crap," Misty said while talking to her dad.

Misty said she actually wrote letters to the Governor demanding he take action. In the newly-released jailhouse videos, the former step-mother of Haleigh Cummings complained about many things, including her jailhouse meals.

During a visit with her father, Hank Croslin Sr., Misty said she wants Governor Crist to look into how she's being treated in jail. She's upset about being isolated from other inmates and the jail food.

Her father, once again, tried to convince her to tell police everything she knows about Haleigh. The 6-year-old Putnam County girl disappeared from her home over a year ago and Misty's father said she should start talking, even if it means giving investigators any information about her ex-husband and Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings.

"I want you to forget about Ronald, and if there's anything that you know about Ronald, you need to come forward, don't protect him, because he's not protecting you," Hank said to Misty.

Misty is convinced she won't get a fair trial on the drug trafficking charges. She called the $1 million bail ridiculous and said she shouldn't even be in jail, even though she was caught on video selling prescription drugs to a undercover deputy.

"They just targeted you, targeted you cause of the Haleigh case, that's the only reason you're in there right now," Croslin Sr. said.

"I know, but still, they can't use that against me, though, dad. This is two different things. That's the only reason they got me here, is because of that. They cannot do that, dad," Misty said.

But even Misty's own lawyer believes she's holding out and not telling everything she knows about what happened to Haleigh.

"He says he wasn't going to leave you; he's gonna stick with you to the end. He just wishes that you would be straight with him, because he's your lawyer, he won't do anything to harm you," Croslin Sr. said.

WFTV checked with the governor's office and, so far, it says it has not received any complaint letters from Misty.
