AdventHealth to send invitations to seniors to sign up for COVID-19 vaccines

ORLANDO, Fla. — AdventHealth announced its plans to distribute community vaccines Thursday morning.

The hospital said it will send out invitations to caregivers family members who are over the age of 65 to sign up for the vaccine.

It is also inviting established medical group patients over the age of 65 to receive the vaccine.

The hospital said it will send out an email to those who are qualified for the vaccine.

Starting Tuesday, vaccines will be distributed at a vaccine site at Orlando International Airport.

The hospital said it will distribute vaccines there as long as the supply lasts, but walkups are not allowed.

So far, AdventHealth said it has vaccinated more than 25,000 people.

The hospital system is treating more than 700 patients in their hospitals for COVID-19, which is stark increase from before Christmas.

The hospital also said it has created an alert system to allow people to stay up to date on when the vaccine will be available. Click here to sign up for alerts.
