ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis visited an Orange County charter school on Tuesday to announce a plan to put $106 million to bolster civics and debate education in Florida.

DeSantis said the increased funding to the Florida civics and debate initiative will help students better understand government and the way it works.

DeSantis said $65 million will go toward developing the Florida Civic Seal of Excellence, which teachers can seek training to receive.
