TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Two seats in South Florida flipped to Republican, which is helping contribute to Republican gains in Congress.
One political science professor told Eyewitness News that it’s possible Florida’s delegation could tilt even more to the right after census results come in.

Right now, Florida has 27 seats in the House of Representatives. Analysts predict the 2020 census could push that up to 29 due to Florida’s growth, so 29 congressional districts.
That means Florida’s electoral college votes would go from 29 to 31.
But whether Florida’s electors are truly up for grabs on future election nights will depend on whether Florida remains a swing state, which experts say depend on how the state handles those two new potential congressional districts.
