School employees are lining up for their COVID-19 vaccine, and that includes substitute teachers.
But the ease of getting a shot may depend on where a substitute teacher works.
A work ID is key, but not everyone gets one.

In Lake and Osceola counties, substitutes receive the same ID badge that other employees do. But not every district provides badges.
In Orange County, substitutes aren’t school-district employees; Kelly Education supplies those workers.
“The Department of Health in Orange County has told us as long as they bring their Kelly Education ID badge, they will be eligible,” Kelly Education Vice President Cheryl Courier said.
Along with the badge or a letter, substitutes need to also show state ID and a second proof of Florida residency.
Courier said she hopes more shots will make it easier to find fill-in teachers.
“We’ve had substitutes who’ve sat out for a year and I have personally taken calls from substitutes who said, ‘I’ve received my first shot, my first vaccination and I am ready to get the 2nd and come back to work,’” she said. “They’re very excited.”
