BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Eau Gallie High School will be closed for one week after cases of COVID-19 were reported among students, the Brevard County superintendent said.
The closure goes into effect at the end of the day Friday and will run through Oct. 25.

The closure affects all school activities and programming, including bus service and athletic activities.
All on-site students will be moved to learning from home while a custodial team disinfects the school.

Officials plan to return to normal operations on Oct. 26.
The school district said the Brevard County Department of Health has notified the families of students who were in contact with the ones who tested positive. They’ve been asked to quarantine for two weeks.

The Brevard Department of Health is offering free COVID-19 tests to any Eau Gallie High School students or staff members who feel they need one.
The tests will be available at the school Monday through Wednesday from 1 p.m to 4:30 p.m. A school ID is required.
