Man, 20, critically injured in shooting outside Taft convenience store

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies say a young man is in critical condition in the hospital after he was injured in a shooting in the Taft area Thursday night.

Deputies were called to the Neighborhood Food Mart in the 9000 block of 2nd Ave. just before 6:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

Investigators say the victim, identified only as a 20-year-old male, was shot in front of the building and taken to the hospital with injuries described as “life-threatening.”

The unknown suspect left the scene before deputies arrived, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

No other details were released as detectives say they’re still in the very early stages of an active investigation.
