ORLANDO, Fla. — With Hurricane Laura impacting Louisiana as a category 4 storm, dozens of Central Floridians are headed to the region to help.
Linemen from the Orlando Utilities Commission deployed Thursday morning to assist with power restoration in the area.

“They’re going to go up there and restore power to a community that’s in desperate need,” OUC CEO Clint Bullock said.
They’ll be joining dozens of other Central Floridians already on-site.

Central Florida’s Task Force 4 rescue team deployed Wednesday morning and is now in the area assisting with searches.

“The reason why we are doing it is because there are times when we need it here in Central Florida and Orlando,” Bullock added.
