Saturday’s game between Florida Gators, LSU Tigers postponed till December due to COVID-19 cases

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Saturday’s football game between the Florida Gators and the LSU Tigers has been postponed until Dec. 12 due to COVID-19 cases among players.

UF Athletic Director Scott Stricklin said 21 players have tested positive -- 18 scholarship players and three walk-ons.

Stricklin said all of the players and staff members who have tested positive are experiencing mild symptoms or are asymptomatic.

He said the school has tested each player daily this week to try and to control the situation.

The team said Tuesday that team activities had been paused out of an abundance of caution.

The game had originally been scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday in Gainesville.
