1 dead in crash involving 2 fire trucks on SR-408 in Orange County

ORLANDO, Fla. — A deadly crash involving two Orlando fire trucks shut down a stretch on State Road 408 in Orange County early Friday.

7:50 a.m. update

• SR-408 eastbound has reopened.

• the roadway was closed for nearly six hours.

6:20 a.m. update

The backups are beginning to build on SR-408.

Alexa Lorenzo is continuing to monitor the delays on Channel 9.

All eastbound lanes are shutdown between Conway Road and Andes Avenue.

4:30 a.m. update

• SR-408 eastbound is still closed while Orlando Police investigate the fatal crash.

• Police now say two firetrucks were hit.

3:30 a.m. update

• One person was killed when a car crashed into an Orlando Fire truck

• Fire crews were assisting with an earlier crash at the time of the crash

• No firefighters were injured.

• SR-408 eastbound is shutdown between Conway Road and Andes Avenue.
