OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — After 25 years of entertainment, Central Florida's Arabian Nights dinner attraction will close its doors, leaving more than 200 employees unemployed and the famous Arabian horses to a local ranch.
"I think I've been fantastically lucky to have been able to do what I love to do for 25 years and show 10 million people how beautiful our horses are and how talented our riders are," Arabian Nights owner Mark Miller said.
Miller said the decision to close after more than 10,000 shows was not easy. The shows will now only live on through YouTube videos posted by fans.
"If it costs you more to produce the show than you can get to sell it, then you need to close the doors and that's where we are," Miller said.
Aside from the show, Miller has also been very involved in revitalizing the corridor of U.S. 192, which is the route where the show is located along.
"I love where I live and I love Osceola County and I'm quite confident that there are things in the works that will have a huge positive impact on 192, and that we will continue to move forward," Miller said.
The concluding plan for the show is to sell tickets for half the original price to local residents who want one final opportunity to see the show.
The final Arabian Nights performance is scheduled for New Year's Eve. Miller said he will then decide what to do with the vacant property.
