Aggravated battery leads to traffic fatality on I-4, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 4 early Saturday morning.

Deputies responded to an aggravated battery call just after 12:00 a.m. on Interstate 4.

According to deputies, the victim, a 27-year-old Hispanic man and the suspect, a 30-year-old Hispanic woman, were traveling east on I-4 and were arguing. The victim, who was driving, pulled over to the should near mile marker 68.

At some point after the pair pulled over, the suspect broke a bottle and struck the victim, deputies said.  The suspect then exited the victim’s car, and then ran into the path of another car and was struck.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

The victim was transported and treated at a hospital.

This is an ongoing investigation.
