ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help finding the person responsible for what they’re calling a “horrible act of animal cruelty.”
According to the sheriff’s office, a dog was found Saturday behind a shopping plaza at the intersection of Forest City Rd. and Kennedy Blvd.

Deputies say the dog, named Petal, was in a plastic bag, sitting in the sun on hot pavement with her mouth duct taped shut and all of her paws taped together.
Orange County Animals Services and Poodle and Pooch rescue of Florida responded to the scene to assist Petal, but it wasn’t clear if she would survive.
An exam revealed Petal was extremely weak and malnourished with serious infections in both her eyes.
