9 things to do this weekend: Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, Love is Love Pride Fest and more

ORLANDO, Fla. — Are you looking for something to do this weekend?

Here are nine events that are happening in Central Florida.

1. 63rd Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival

The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is happening this weekend.

You can visit the festival on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival is held rain or shine.

Over 1,100 artists from around the world apply to participate for the Festival each year.

2. Apopka International Jazz Festival

The Apopka International Jazz Festival will take place on Saturday.

The festival will be held at the Apopka Amphitheater at 3710 Jason Dwelley Parkway.

Gates open at 4 p.m.

It will feature artists Jeffrey Osborne, Hiroshima, Grammy award winner Nestor Torres, and Dee Lucas with special guest Lori Williams.

3. Orange County Sheriff’s Office introduces new mobile video game theater

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is introducing its new mobile video game theater this weekend.

Deputies are inviting you and your kids to experience the new game theater on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the sheriff’s office’s Central Operations Center parking lot at 2500 West Colonial Drive.

The sheriff’s office said the state-of-the-art trailer boasts 11 screens and can support up to 44 players at a time.

“We’ve got PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, virtual reality and all the latest games,” the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said there will be fun, food from Mission BBQ, prizes, music and friendly competition, all free of charge.

4. Kowtown Festival

The Kowtown Festival is coming to Kissimmee.

The festival will be held Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at Kissimmee Lakefront Park.

It will feature live music, a kids zone, games and vendors.

5. Love is Love Pride Fest

The Love is Love Pride Fest will be held on Saturday.

It will take place at the Artisan Alley from noon to 7 p.m.

“The 2022 Love is Love Pride Fest is going to be our biggest yet,” said executive director Ann-Marie Willacker. “In addition to the festival itself on Saturday, which includes a Pride Marketplace, entertainment throughout the day, youth activities, and a free concert by Miss Intent at Cafe DaVinci.”

6. 9th Annual Tomoka Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K

Get ready runners, the 9th Annual Tomoka marathon, half marathon and 5K will be held on Saturday.

The race is a Boston Marathon qualifier and starts and finishes at The Casements in Ormond Beach, going through Tomoka State Park and Ormond’s Scenic Loop and Trail.

7. Orlando Wine Festival and Auction

You can enjoy a warm spring weekend in the City Beautiful for an outdoor food and wine tasting extravaganza.

The Orlando Wine Festival & Auction will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The wine festival will happen on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando’s Da Vinci Lawn.

Guests will get to sample wines from different regions and food from celebrity chefs and local restaurants.

A live auction will happen from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Ritz-Carlton ballroom.

8. Orlando Magic vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Orlando Magic will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder this weekend.

Tipoff is at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Amway Center.

9. EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

The EPCOT International Flower & Garden festival continues this weekend.

The festival runs until July 4. It features fresh cuisine, colorful gardens, playful topiaries and vibrant entertainment.
