The book will combine “illuminating personal anecdotes” with Trebek’s thoughts on a wide range of topics including marriage, parenthood, education, success, spirituality and philanthropy, according to a news release.

Trebek has hosted “Jeopardy!” since 1984, and has become something of a family member to millions of television viewers by bringing entertainment and education into their homes five nights a week.

In 2019, Trebek announced he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which led to an incredible outpouring of love and kindness ranging from social media messages to boxes of cards and letters sent to the “Jeopardy!” studio that offered guidance, encouragement and prayers.

That goodwill compelled him to finally share his story, according to a news release.

“I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year,” Trebek writes in his book.

He’ll also address burning questions fans have been asking: What prompted him to shave his signature mustache? What does he think about show legends Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer? What is his opinion of Will Ferrell’s impersonation of him on “Saturday Night Live”?

Each chapter will be a title in the form of a question. It will also feature dozens of never-before-seen photos that capture Trebek over the years.

Watch “Jeopardy!” weeknights at 7 p.m. on Channel 9.
