Walt Disney World to close Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster ride for refurbishment

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Walt Disney World just announced one of its most popular thrill rides is about to shut down for months.

The company said the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is set to close for refurbishment starting Feb. 20.

The ride is set to reopen sometime in the summer, but Disney did not give an exact date for the reopening.

The ride opened at Disney-MGM Studios, now Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in 1999.
