Have the umbrella ready: scattered rain, cold front to bring relief from heat

ORLANDO, Fla. — A cold front will start to move east and increase the chance for substantial rain for the southeastern U.S., on Wednesday and Thursday.

The cold front will move through Central Florida late Thursday creating scattered showers. Clouds will linger throughout the day on Friday and combined with cooler air, highs will remain a bit chilly, only reaching the mid-60s.

Here’s what to expect for Wednesday’s forecast:

  • The evening will stay warm and muggy with passing rain showers.
  • Temps are expected to drop to the upper 60s for the evening.
  • Drive safely, scattered showers could slow down the morning commute.
  • Thursday will be a transitional day, with highs a bit cooler reaching between 78 and 81 degrees across Central Florida.
  • Expect on and off showers, mainly moving from southwest to northeast.
  • A cold front will push over our area overnight.
  • Temperatures will be much cooler on Friday, it will stay cloudy with the chance for passing showers.
