It’s happened to all of us – you get in your car, turn the ignition, and one of those dreaded dashboard lights comes on. What does it mean, how long will it put your car out of commission, and how much will it cost you? It’s easy to panic when you see a dashboard light in your new Toyota in Orlando, but we’re here to help! We got some information from our trained Toyota technicians at our Toyota Service Center, and these tips are bound to put your mind more at ease if you find yourself in this situation!

Don’t ignore dashboard lights in your new Toyota!

Whenever you see a dashboard light come on in your new Toyota, you should most likely bring the car into our Toyota Service Center in Orlando to have it checked out. It can’t hurt; if it’s an issue that’s going to progressively get worse over time (this translates to more and more expensive), then you definitely want to nip it in the bud as soon as you can. Take a look at some of the most common lights you’ll see!

If you see the check engine light in your new Toyota in Orlando, first pull over to make sure your gas cap is turned tight enough. If that doesn’t remedy the problem, then definitely bring your car into our Toyota Service Center. The light could be on for numerous reasons, and you don’t want them to turn into something extremely damaging and costly.

If you see the batter warning light come on, you could have a problem with either the battery or alternator. Bad news? You’re going to run out of juice and if you don’t take care of it, you’ll be stranded with a dead batter. Good news? Our  Orlando Toyota Service Center can check it out and replace your battery quickly and affordably!

If you see the tire pressure light come on, pull over your new Toyota and check it. Make sure there’s no damage to the tire and inflate according to instructions in your owner’s manual. If that doesn’t get the job done, then you should bring your vehicle in so our techs can take a look and determine what the root problem is!

If you’re hitting the road in your new Toyota and you see the oil pressure light come on, STOP. Do not pass go, don’t try to make it until the next day – pull over! This light indicates that oil pressure is dropping; you can try topping off your oil to get your vehicle to our service center, but do not try to ignore the issue or let it ride for a few days. This can lead to serious (and very, very costly) engine issues if not taken care of!
