North Dakota man accused of raping baby receives 4-year prison sentence

BISMARCK, N.D. — A North Dakota man accused of raping and abusing a baby has been sentenced to a four-year prison term, officials said.

According to the Bismarck Tribune, 33-year-old Andrew Glasser, of Bismarck, filed an “Alford plea” Monday to a sexual assault charge in the 2017 incident. He also pleaded guilty to several other charges, including child abuse, evidence tampering and child pornography possession, in July, the newspaper reported.

In October 2017, authorities found evidence that a baby had been sexually abused, suffered rib fractures and had fibula, tibia and femur injuries, the Tribune reported. Investigators also said Glasser had reset his cellphone and downloaded child pornography onto his computer.

In addition to four years in prison, Glasser must spend five years on probation, the newspaper reported.
