DETROIT — The biggest automotive recall in history just got bigger.
If you drive a Toyota, Scion or Lexus, you're going to want to see if your car was recently listed under the Takata airbag recall.
More than 28.8 million cars came under the recall originally, and now with the addition of 17 more automakers, the government's move adds 35 million to 40 million Takata inflators to the already long list of vehicles possibly affected, CBS News reported.
The problem surrounding the airbags is that they can inflate with too much force, breaking a metal piece that will fly through the vehicle.
At least 11 people have died and there have been more than 100 injuries worldwide.

Since the original recall in May 2015, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that more than 8 million air bags have been repaired.
