A cellphone was found taped under the sink in a unisex bathroom at a Pennsylvania college, WPVI reported.
Police said the device was discovered by a student Wednesday at the EO Bull Center for the Arts at West Chester University, the television station reported
"It's honestly super horrifying because you go to the bathroom, you don't want … its private," Becky Schoellkopf, a student at the university, told WPVI.
The district attorney's office obtained a search warrant to access the phone and will be reviewing its data this weekend, WPVI reported.
Students were notified of the incident by email Friday afternoon.
"I wasn't expecting that to happen here of all places. It's a very open and very safe campus,” James Bealerm a student, told the television station.
University officials released a statement applauding the student who discovered the device.
"West Chester University applauds the student who found the cell phone in the restroom and came forward to report this invasion of privacy. The University finds the invasion of privacy deeply disturbing and takes the matter seriously.
Authorities are hoping surveillance video will help them determine who put the phone under the sink, WPVI reported.
