The video taken at Florida's Jacksonville Pier shows a shark eating another shark.
The clip has since gone viral, with more than 385,000 views as of Tuesday morning.
Witnesses said it appeared that someone was trying to reel in a 2-foot shark when another shark, possibly about 6 feet long, ate the other one.
University of North Florida biology professor Dr. Jim Gelsleichter explained the encounter:
"I believe that’s a smaller shark was a black tip and the larger shark looked like a bull shark,” Gelsleichter said.
Gelsleichter said researchers have seen evidence left from similar attacks.
“It’s common for us to haul back a half of shark, a shark head, or in some cases a larger shark that got hooked when he grabbed on to a smaller shark,” Gelsleichter said.
He said most people usually don’t catch it on camera – and that it happens more often than we think.
Experts said we should start to see shark encounters decrease in October and November.
