According to Forbes, "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite," the latest "augmented reality" game from Niantic Labs, will be released in the United States and United Kingdom on Friday. The company also "plans to make it available in more regions in the future," but further details weren't immediately available, Engadget reported.

A beta version of the game, which, like Niantic's "Pokemon Go," integrates a player's location into the gameplay, also was released in New Zealand in April and Australia in May.

The story focuses on a "calamity" that is "causing artifacts, creatures, people and even memories to mysteriously appear in the Muggle world," the "Wizards Unite" website says.

"Witches and wizards from across the globe must come together to solve the mystery of The Calamity, overcome the confounding chaotic magic that surrounds these 'Foundables,' and return them to their rightful place, keeping them safe from Muggle eyes," the description says.

The game will be available via Apple's App Store, Google Play and the Samsung Galaxy Store, according to a trailer released Tuesday.
