Woman found dead inside porch of abandoned Orange County home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The body of a 25-year-old woman was found on the porch of an abandoned home on Linton Avenue Wednesday night, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.

The victim, who was only described as a white female, died under suspicious circumstances, investigators said.

The discovery of the woman’s body was reported at about 8:41 p.m. Wednesday, and when emergency personnel arrived at the home in the 1200 block of Linton Avenue, she was already dead, deputies said.

A woman, who did not want to be identified, told Channel 9 that she went to feed cats at an abandoned house.

“I heard one of the cats make a very strange sound,” she said.

She said she opened the screen door at the front of the home to take a look.

“I said, ‘What the hell is that?’ And all of a sudden I went, ‘Oh my God, that's a person,’” she said.

She said the woman inside was lying naked on the porch. She called 911.

“I knew by the way she was lying there that it was either dead or gone in the head, because you couldn't lay like that,” she said.

The neighbors told Channel 9 that the woman was always going in and out of the home, and that she would walk up and down the street, but not talk to anyone.

The house had been condemned after it was foreclosed on a few years ago.

The neighbors said the house and several other dilapidated homes in the neighborhood have been drug houses for years.

The cause of the woman’s death has not been released.
