OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A 33-year-old Orlando woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing death of a 20-year-old Kissimmee man at a Days Inn in Osceola County, deputies said.
Another man was injured Tuesday morning at the hotel in the 2900 block of Polynesian Isle Boulevard.
"Outside of one of the hotel rooms, deputies encountered an adult male on the ground who was bleeding from unknown injuries,"
Osceola County Capt. Jacob Ruiz said. "Inside that room, deputies found another adult male with multiple injuries."
Investigators said the man inside the room, later identified as Zachary Ganoe, was pronounced dead. They said the man outside the room was taken to a hospital.
Deputies didn't release the injured man's identity.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office arrested Emerita Eileen Mapp. She is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the attack.
While the sheriff's office did not release specifics on what might have led to the stabbing, it decried the attack in a news release.
"The victims in this case were two young men with no violent histories," the release said. "Although they may have made small mistakes in their past, this vicious attack on them was not warranted.
"No human being should ever be attacked in this manner."
An investigation into the case is continuing.
