ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and the Altamonte Springs Police Department said they are working several car break-in cases at different apartment complexes in the area Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office said it received at least two dozen reports of car break-ins at the Serravella at Spring Valley apartment complex on Wymore Road overnight.
Deputies said car windows were shattered and items, such as cigarettes and change, were stolen from the vehicles. Expensive items were left behind, authorities said.
“I didn’t have words to be honest with you. I was speechless,” said Allison Lehman, who had her car broken into. “Change is the only thing they took. Maybe $7 worth, if that.”
Altamonte Springs police said they have at least 14 cases of car break-ins that happened at the Wymore Grove apartments and at the Altamonte at Spring Valley apartments, both on Wymore Road.
Blood was found in a victim’s car which investigators swabbed as evidence, authorities said.
No suspect information has been released.
