Two men facing charges for Mount Dora Walmart shooting

MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Two men are facing charges that they falsely told police someone had shot their driver in a Walmart parking lot in July, the Mount Dora Police Department said.

Gabriel Dejkunchorn, 20, and Kederick Hunter, 22, were charged with filing a false report with law enforcement officials after investigators determined Dejkunchorn accidentally shot a man who was in the car with the two of them July 21.
Dejkunchorn was sitting in the back seat behind Christian Watson, who was driving the car, around 9:30 p.m. when Dejkunchorn accidentally shot himself in the knee, police said.
The bullet ricocheted, traveling through the front seat into Watson’s back.
Watson ran from the car to seek help. Dejkunchorn told investigators someone else had shot the two of them.
Hunter fled the scene, but eventually returned and told investigators he wasn’t there at the time of the shooting, police said.
Only one shot was fired. Watson is not facing any charges.
Hunter has been arrested and booked into the Lake County jail. An active arrest warrant is out for Dejkunchorn, police said.
