Troopers: Man killed, another injured in Pine Hills hit-and-run crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 34-year-old man was killed and a 27-year-old man was seriously injured late Saturday in a hit-and-run crash in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. at Pine Hills and Indian Hill roads, Trooper Steven Montiero said.

While turning left onto Indian Hill Road, someone driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming Nissan Altima, Montiero said.

The vehicles collided head-on.

Investigators said the driver of the car, Brandon McCray, of Orlando, was taken to Florida Hospital Orlando, where he died.

His passenger, Michael White, also of Orlando, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized, troopers said.

Montiero said the driver of the pickup truck and his passenger -- both described as Hispanic men wearing black jackets -- fled from the crash scene, running south on Pine Hills Road.

One of the men was wearing a blue/teal shirt, and the other had flannel shorts on. %
