ORLANDO, Fla. — Attorneys for two of three teenage boys accused in the beating death of a teenage boy in Winter Park last year were in court Friday morning.
Simeon Hall, 15, and Jesse Sutherland, 15, are charged with manslaughter in the death of Roger Trindade.
The boys are accused of punching Trindade in downtown Winter Park's Central Park in October 2016. He was removed from life support following a two-day hospitalization.
Prosecutors promised the judge on Friday that the boys will stand trial in August.
Police also arrested Jagger Gouda, 14, in connection with the death.
He's accused of spraying Trindade with skunk spray and threatening a middle school student, saying "she would pay" if she told anyone about the beating.
Gouda was charged with witness tampering and battery, charges to which he pleaded no contest.
His sentencing has been pushed back because he could testify against Hall and Sutherland.

The trio has been placed under house arrest because there are restrictions on how long the state can jail juveniles.
Trindade's relatives continue to mourn him and yearn for justice nine months after his death. A family friend told Channel 9 that the drawn-out legal process has been painful for them.
Relatives plan to travel to Orlando from Brazil once sentencing begins.
The trial is scheduled to begin Aug. 17.
