DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a tire tread separation caused a fiery Daytona Beach crash Monday involving a dump truck.
Pictures showed how the flames engulfed the semi after it rolled over about 5 p.m. on the south lanes Interstate 95.
Daytona Beach firefighters said the diesel from the semi-truck caused several explosions, causing the vehicle to become engulfed in flames.
Troopers said the tire tread separated and the driver lost control before overturning near a barrier wall.
The truck driver and another driver had minor injuries.
