ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Eyewitness News has been pushing for answers in the case of a national champion accused by a teenage girl of making a sexual advance last month.
Chris Leak began coaching football at Edgewater High School in February. He resigned last week after a five-game losing streak.
Parents told Channel 9’s Janine Reyes they want to know why he resigned the same day a police report accusing Leak of sexual assault was filed; police told Eyewitness News the case is under investigation.
A 16-year-old girl said Leak asked for a massage last month in the athletic trainer office.
According to the police report, "Coach Leak then laid down on the training bench on his stomach. I massaged the back of his legs for 15 minutes. I told him I was done because my hands got tired. Coach Leak then rolled over on his back. Coach Leak then told me to massage the front of his legs. He pulled my hands up to touch his penis. My hand grazed his penis a few times. His penis was hard when I touched it. At that point I got up and said I was done."
The teen told the school resource officer she walked out when it happened, according to the police report.
Leak is accused of taking the girl to get food, giving her a ride home and giving her friend $100, Orlando Police said.
Leak has not responded to Eyewitness News calls or texts.
Meanwhile, Eyewitness News learned Leak has a temporary teaching certification that was issued in July and that it is valid for three years.
