Publix Super Markets issued a voluntary recall on some steam-in-bag products containing a butternut squash ingredient.
The company said the squash could be contaminated with listeria.
A supplier, Pero Family Farms Food Company, LLC, first initiated the voluntary recall.

The steam-in-bag products were sold between Jan. 3 and Jan. 14. The butternut squash trays expire between Jan. 15 and Jan. 20.

- Publix Steam In Bag Green Bean Butternut Squash, GTIN 002-24887-00000
- Publix Steam In Bag Season Butternut Medley, GTIN 002-25399-00000
- Publix Steam In Bag Butternut Brussel Pecan, GTIN 002-25677-00000
- Pero Family Farms Butternut Squash Cubed Tray, GTIN 8 74896 00977 1
- Pero Family Farms Butternut Squash Veggie Spirals Tray, GTIN 8 74896 00975 7

Listeria can make people sick and is dangerous for older people and those with weakened immune systems.
“As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all store shelves,” said Maria Brous, Publix communications director. “To date, there have been no reported cases of illness. Consumers who have purchased the products in question may return the product to their local store for a full refund. Publix customers with additional questions may call our consumer relations department at 800-242-1227.”
