ORLANDO, Fla. — A man's body was found Saturday morning in a canal at a park in the Clear Lake neighborhood, the Orlando Police Department said.
The body was found shortly before 7:15 a.m. in a canal that branches out from Clear Lake in George Barker Park near Orange Center Boulevard and South John Young Parkway, Orlando police Lt. Roger Brennan said.

The man, whose identity wasn't released, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
"Preliminary information indicates the drowning was accidental," Brennan said.
Investigators said the man had been fishing with a teenager.

The man struggled through the canal's thick vegetation while trying to retrieve a fishing pole from the water, police said.
The death remains under investigation.
