OCALA, Fla. — A 62-year-old Ocala man died Tuesday night after being hit by a truck while walking in the eastbound lane of Cedar Trace, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Noel Arocho was walking in the road at 9:50 p.m. when a 1994 Ford Ranger, driven by Deivis Munoz Hernandez, 17, came around a corner in the westbound lane, troopers said.
As he went around the curve, Hernandez’s truck veered into the eastbound lane and hit Arocho, investigators said.
Arocho was thrown into the grass median by the impact of the crash, FHP said.
Hernandez, who stopped at the scene, was not injured, troopers said.
Arocho was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he died.
