Passerby finds body in Orange County retention pond

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A body was found in a retention pond Thursday behind a Walgreens in Orange County, authorities said.

A man who did not want to be identified said he found the body as he was walking on South Chickasaw Trail and Curry Ford Road.

“I’ve never seen something like that around here, and especially in this area. I believe that is the first time I’ve seen something like that,” said the man.

The medical examiner was at the scene recovering the body, and authorities said foul play is not suspected.

Neither the identity nor cause of death of the person have been released.
