Orange County Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell increases starting salaries

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County Clerk of Courts is raising its minimum starting wages.

Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell said the organization is starting salaries at $15.25 an hour for full and part-time employees, effective immediately.

The office said the salary increase is part of two phases that began last year. In January 2020, the office raised its minimum hourly rate to $14 for entry-level deputy clerks.

“The pandemic and statewide budget cuts forced us to delay the second phase salary hike, so I wanted to make sure we gave a little more incentive to potential new employees by surpassing the $15 dollar an hour wage,” Russell said in a statement.

The Orange County Clerk of Courts said it also offers its 400 employees a robust benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and participation in the state’s FRS pension plan as well as mental health support through an Employee Assistance Plan, family and medical leave, and a generous vacation policy.

“I want to make sure we are acknowledging the value of what this job entails,” Russell said. “Our clerks handle sensitive matters and touch thousands of cases daily. What they do makes a big difference in the lives of residents and businesses.”
