ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Firefighters say they were able to quickly put out a blaze at a home in the Doctor Phillips Neighborhood, but two family pets died in the fire.
The fire was reported at about 1:30 a.m. in the area of Oaken Cove Court and Hardrock Circle, officials said.
Firefighters were able to put out the blaze by about 2 a.m.
Three adults and one pet were able to make it out of the home but two other pets were not able to escape, the homeowners said.
No information was immediately available on the type of pets killed.
The Red Cross was working with the family displaced by the fire while the state fire marshal investigates how it started.
