ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 30-year-old Orlando woman on a moped died Friday morning when she ran into a Jeep trying to cross Universal Boulevard at Breakview Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Chopy Hodes, 29, of Deerfield Beach was driving eastbound on Breakview Drive in a 1999 Jeep at about 9:50 a.m., troopers said.

He attempted to drive across all lanes of Universal Boulevard and pulled into the path of the moped rider, Natalie Santana, who was northbound on the roadway, the FHP said.

Santana drove into the side of the Jeep, troopers said.

She was taken to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, troopers said.

She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, FHP said.
