ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The body of a missing boater was found in Lake Beauclair Saturday morning three days after the man was reported missing, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies and wildlife officers found the body of William Robl, 76, at about 9 a.m., said Jeff Williamson, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Once the body was located, divers brought it to shore at Trimble Park along the lake’s southern shore.
“Family members were on scene and were able to positively identify the deceased individual as Mr. Robl,” Williamson said.
Relatives grew worried when Robl didn’t return home on time Wednesday morning.
Robl’s boat was later spotted going in circles. Once wildlife officers secured it, they found no one aboard.
“Sheriff Demings and OCSO Search and Recovery team members offer their sincere thanks to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and FWC for their assistance and support in this effort,” Williamson said.
The park will reopen once deputies clear the scene.
