KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A man’s body was found floating in a Kissimmee retention pond Saturday morning, the Kissimmee Police Department said.
The body was found at about 11:45 a.m. off of West Vine Street north of Oren Brown Road, said Stacie Miller, a police spokeswoman.
"Some person that stepped off the pathway to relieve himself and saw the body," Miller said. “We don't know that this is a homicide, so I wouldn't say that there's a suspect."
The body was found lying face down in shallow water near a sidewalk, Miller said.
"For the past three days, two or three says, I've noticed a stench,” resident Ronald Finfrock said. “I stopped at that store yesterday and noticed it was really strong."
An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday to determine a cause of death.
No other information was released.
